We're all about SEO here at Gold Penguin. We consistently test and research new ways to improve our clients' Rankings in SERPs. When it comes to SEO, there's no one-size-fits-all solution – what works for one website might not work for another. That's why we're always on the lookout for new and better ways to optimize our clients' websites.
When it comes to SEO, you have two types: on-page and off-page. On-page SEO is all about optimizing your website's content and code to make it as search engine friendly as possible. Off-page SEO is everything else you can do to improve your website's ranking, such as link building and social media engagement.
Both types of SEO are important, but in this post, we're going to focus on on-page SEO. Specifically, we're going to take a look at some of the best plugins for on-page SEO.
If there's one thing we've learned over the years of working with various client industries: SEO is not hackable. It takes time, effort, and lots of research to get it right. However, these plugins can help you become aware of the most important on-page SEO factors and make optimization a breeze.
What Is On-Page SEO?
On-page SEO is the process of optimizing your website's content and code to make it as search engine friendly as possible. This includes things like optimizing your title tags, meta descriptions, header text, and image alt text. It also includes making sure your website is mobile-friendly and has a fast loading time.
What is a SERP?
A SERP is a Search Engine Results Page. Whenever you type a query into a search engine like Google, Bing, or DuckDuckGo, the results page that you see is a SERP.
What is a Title Tag?
Your title tag is the clickable headline of your website that appears in SERPs. It should be descriptive and include your target keyword.
What is a Meta Description?
Your meta description is a short description of your website that appears beneath your title tag in SERPs. It should be between 150-160 characters and include your target keyword.
What is Header Text?
Header text is the larger, bolder text that appears at the top of your webpage. It's typically used for titles and subtitles.
What is Alt Text?
Image alt text is the text that appears when you hover over an image on a website. It should be descriptive and include your target keyword. Search engines can crawl and index image alt text, so it's a good idea to include it on all of your website's images.
As we mentioned before, these tips are only going to help when you have good content. So, make sure your website's content is high-quality, keyword-rich, and informative before you start optimizing for search engines. Whenever we write, we think of the reader. User intent is the first step in writing content that will rank on search engines. Who is reading your content? What do they want to know? How can you help them?
Think of SEO as decorating the inside of a house. If you have a poorly built house, there is no point in decorating it since nobody wants to buy it in the first place. The same goes for your website – if you have poorly written or thin content, no amount of SEO will help you rank in SERPs. On the other hand, if you have a properly built house, decoration will be why your house is sold over the one down the block. The same goes for your website – if you have high-quality content, SEO will be what pushes it to the top of SERPs.
So what all this comes down to is: an SEO plugin for your Breakdance website is only as good as the content on your website. If you don't have high-quality, keyword-rich, and informative content, no SEO plugin is going to help you rank in SERPs.
Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's take a look at some of the best plugins for on-page SEO.
Best SEO Plugins to use with Breakdance Builder
Since Breakdance is fairly new, some of the popular SEO plugins might not work with it yet. Here are some of the best plugins that we've personally tested and can confirm work with Breakdance:
Best SEO Plugin for Simplicity - The SEO Framework
If you're a fan of minimalism, this is the plugin for you. The SEO Framework is lightweight and only includes the essential on-page SEO factors. This plugin shows a small bar beside your pages and posts including information about your title, descriptions, and other page keywords that are too long, short, or missing. Also, it's free. 100% free – No premium features or upsells. This is extremely common for an SEO plugin – promising you if you buy the premium version, your website will rank number one in Google... not true! There is a paid version that gives you access to their API, which is only necessary if you're a developer.
Best SEO Plugin for Everything - Rank Math
RankMath has been one of the leading SEO plugins for WordPress since its launch in 2015. It's constantly being updated with new features and integrations. The plugin is free but also has a pro version giving you access to tracked keywords and ranks.
RankMath includes a connection with Google Search Console so you can see how your pages are ranking and what keywords people are using to find your website. It also has an AMP module so you can optimize your site for mobile devices (if your website is using AMP). One of the most unique features is the Local SEO module, which allows you to add structured data to your website so it shows up in Google Maps.
Currently, RankMath doesn't have integration directly with Breakdance (no fancy SEO score), but the plugin works as normal as it would with any other WordPress website.
It seems like RankMath is currently the leading SEO plugin spoken by current Breakdance users. They seem to generally agree that it's the most comprehensive, user-friendly, and affordable option.
Best SEO Plugin for E-Commerce - Yoast SEO
If you're running an eCommerce store, then Yoast SEO is the plugin for you. With over 5 million downloads, Yoast adds functionality specifically designed to help you optimize your website's product pages for better ranking in SERPs. The plugin includes features that allow you to add structured data to your product pages and connect with Google Shopping. Yoast also offers a premium version of the plugin with additional features and integrations.
SEO is a huge topic, and we could go on forever about it. But when it comes to SEO plugins for WordPress, these are some of our personal choices that work with Breakdance. Remember, no plugin is going to do all the work for you. A plugin is only as good as the content on your website. So make sure you're writing high-quality, keyword-rich, and informative content, and your website will be on its way to ranking in SERPs in no time.
