WhatsApp has officially announced their upcoming feature showcasing generative-AI stickers that can be created by a simple text prompt.
Users can easily create their own personalized stickers that are relevant to their interests, experiences and conversations instantly.
In a recent tweet, WABetaInfo released a sneak peek of the new feature, showcasing its ability to create and share AI-generated stickers in their conversations.
Another photo preview of the upcoming has been released which demonstrates the process of generating a sticker from scratch:

Using the ‘Create’ button located within the sticker tab, users will be asked to type in a description of what they want the sticker to look like.
According to the release, the messaging app will present a set of AI generated stickers that users can freely choose from.
“We think that this level of personalization can enhance the overall messaging experience and make conversations definitely more engaging,” WhatsApp said in a release.
In recent reports, the AI stickers were said to be using a “secure technology offered by Meta” that allows users to have control over generating stickers. In addition, users are also encouraged to report in case a sticker is inappropriate or harmful.
Currently, the new feature is only available to a limited group of beta testers, but will soon be made available to users in the coming weeks.
Considering that stickers are popularly used in messaging apps, WhatsApp’s integration of AI will enhance the overall messaging experience and potentially make chatting more fun and engaging for their users.
