Effective date: July 27, 2026
Gold Penguin, LLC (“Gold Penguin,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Mercy Health Medical Protocols mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information.
The information we collect
The App does not collect personal information or personal health information. In particular, the App does not collect, retain, transmit, sell, rent, share, or disclose names, email addresses, phone numbers, account credentials, patient information, health information, clinical records, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, IP addresses, precise location, contacts, photos, audio, payment information, user-created content, app usage analytics, search history, or crash-reporting data.
The App does not offer accounts or sign-in and does not use advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs.
How the App works
Mercy Health Medical Protocols is an offline clinical-reference application. Its protocol, medication, and resource documents are included with the App and viewed locally on the device. Search and filtering occur locally in temporary memory and are not retained or sent to us.
On Android, the App may place a temporary copy of a bundled reference PDF in the App’s private cache solely to display that document. This cache contains App-provided reference material, not user-supplied information, and is not uploaded by the App.
The App does not require access to the camera, microphone, contacts, location, Health Connect data, or other health-device data.
Third parties and external links
The App uses standard platform components and a PDF-rendering library to display its bundled documents. It does not include advertising, analytics, authentication, cloud-storage, or tracking services.
Some clinical reference documents may contain links to third-party websites or contact details. If you choose to follow an external link or contact a third party, that interaction is outside the App and is governed by the third party’s privacy practices.
Data retention and security
Because we do not receive or store your personal or health information through the App, we have no user data to retain, delete, or disclose. We keep the App limited to the local reference functionality described in this policy.
Clinical-reference notice
The App provides medical protocol and reference materials for its intended emergency medical services users. It does not create a patient-provider relationship, replace professional judgment, or provide patient-specific medical advice. Users must follow the current instructions, approvals, and policies of their applicable EMS agency and medical director.
Changes to this policy
If the App’s information practices change, we will update this policy and its effective date before the changed practice takes effect.
