I've spent a lot of time researching these platforms, comparing their pricing models, guarantees, and hiring processes. Here's what I found and who I think each one is best for.

South (HireInSouth) is a recruiting platform that positions itself as a specialized LATAM hiring partner. They offer both a staffing model with ongoing monthly fees and a one-time headhunting model. Their focus is on long-term placements.
Pricing Breakdown
This is where the three platforms diverge the most.
HireLATAM charges a flat $3,500 per hire. There's a $500 refundable deposit upfront to start the search, and you pay the remaining balance only after a successful placement.
For companies planning multiple hires, they also offer enterprise subscription plans ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 per month. Payroll administration is available as an optional add-on at $199 per month per contractor.
Near uses a percentage-based pricing model. Their recruitment fee is roughly 30% of the candidate's annual salary. So for a role paying $60,000 per year, you're looking at about $18,000 in placement fees.
They also offer a staffing model where you pay a monthly fee that covers the candidate's salary plus Near's service fee. You pay nothing unless you make a hire.

South falls somewhere in between. Their process has three steps. You describe the role, they search and vet candidates (including English assessments, speed tests, behavioral interviews, and reference checks), and then you hire with confidence. Their average time to hire is 16 days, which is competitive. The staffing model includes ongoing support after placement.
Guarantees and Risk
This matters more than most people think. A bad hire at any salary level wastes time and money.
HireLATAM offers a 90-day replacement guarantee. If the hire doesn't work out within that window, they'll find you a replacement at no extra cost. If you opt for their payroll admin service, the guarantee extends to 180 days.

Their 180-day guarantee, 97% placement rate, and fast candidate turnaround make them the premium option. But that comes at a premium price. For a $60,000 salary role, you're paying roughly $18,000 in fees. That adds up fast when you're hiring multiple people.
Choose South if you want something in between. Their staffing model with ongoing monthly fees (rather than a large upfront placement fee) can be easier on cash flow. The 120-day guarantee is solid. And their 16-day average time to hire is the fastest of the three. South is a good fit for companies that want hands-off hiring with predictable monthly costs.
The Downsides Nobody Talks About
All three platforms are agency models. That means you're paying a middleman, and the fee structures reflect that.
With HireLATAM, the flat fee sounds great until you realize the candidate pool might be smaller and the process slower compared to Near or South. Some users on Clutch have also flagged communication issues and logistical hiccups during the hiring process.
With Near, the 30% placement fee is steep. If you're hiring four people at $80,000 each, that's roughly $64,000 in recruitment fees alone. For companies doing volume hiring, that math gets uncomfortable quickly.
With South, the lack of transparent public pricing is frustrating. You have to get on a call to find out what you'll actually pay, which isn't ideal when you're comparing options side by side.
And none of these platforms give you direct access to browse candidates yourself. You describe what you want, and they bring you options. If you prefer a self-service model where you can search, filter, and reach out to candidates directly, platforms like HireTalent offer that approach at a fraction of the cost.
What I'd Actually Do
It depends on your situation. Here's my honest take.
If I'm hiring one person and I want to keep costs low, I'm going with HireLATAM. $3,500 is straightforward and manageable.
If I'm building a team of 5+ people and I want someone else to handle payroll, compliance, and benefits, I'm going with Near. The higher fee buys you a real operational partner, not just a recruiter.
If I'm somewhere in the middle and I want monthly billing instead of a big upfront fee, South makes the most sense. Their staffing model is flexible, and the 120-day guarantee is reasonable.
But honestly? I'd also look at self-service platforms before committing to any agency model. You might find the talent you need without paying thousands in placement fees.
