Oxygen 6.0 isn't just an update—it's a complete rewrite of the platform. After acknowledging that their previous Angular-based codebase had become "a buggy mess at times" that limited innovation, the team decided to break backward compatibility and rebuild everything from scratch.

The result is a modernized builder with a workflow and interface that closely resemble Webflow—something that early users immediately noticed and appreciated on Facebook. This strategic shift positions Oxygen as a new and strong contender in the modern WordPress builder space alongside builders like Bricks.

Pricing and Availability

Oxygen 6.0 is currently available as Beta 1. The full release offers a lifetime license for $199.50 (apparently down from a planned price of $399). This includes unlimited website installations—even for client sites—along with lifetime updates and support.

What About Existing Oxygen Users?

The Oxygen team is committed to maintaining "Oxygen Classic" (the previous version) with ongoing updates and support. Due to the extensive changes, there is no direct upgrade path from Classic to 6.0, but this dual-support approach means users can continue using their existing sites without fear of abandonment.
