Ultimate SLP vs SLP Now vs The Digital SLP vs Speechy Musings vs Speech Therapy Magic - SLP Subscriptions Compared
Reading Time: 10 minutes
SLP materials subscriptions range from about $80 to about $330 a year, & they're less alike than the "membership" label suggests. Some are big ready-made game libraries, some are printable unit libraries with planning & data tools attached, some are a single creator's catalog, & one is a practice platform where you build your own materials. This guide compares the five SLPs ask about most: Ultimate SLP, SLP Now, The Digital SLP, Speechy Musings & Speech Therapy Magic.
Here's the TLDR (prices checked October 2026):
- Speech Therapy Magic - $79.99/yr - Best for: pronunciation practice with automatic scoring, & building your own interactive decks. Smallest ready-made library here.
- Ultimate SLP - $139.92/yr - Best for: the most ready-made interactive games & decks for the money.
- Speechy Musings All Access Pass - $225/yr - Best for: high-quality printables & digital resources you keep after you cancel.
- SLP Now - $249/yr - Best for: school SLPs who want materials, planning, data & deadline tracking in one place.
- The Digital SLP - $329/yr - Best for: no-print, interactive language units for PreK-8.
The Price Table

| Ultimate SLP | $12.95 | $139.92 | 14 days | 100+ online games, 500+ card decks, 30,000+ flash cards (vendor's figures) |

What Each One Costs Over a School Year
Many school SLPs only need a subscription for about ten months, which changes the math. Here's ten monthly payments against twelve & the annual plan:
| Subscription | 10 × monthly | 12 × monthly | Annual plan | Cheapest for a school year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Speech Therapy Magic | $99.90 | $119.88 | $79.99 | Annual |
| Ultimate SLP | $129.50 | $155.40 | $139.92 | Monthly, cancel in summer |
| Speechy Musings | - | - | $225.00 | Annual (only option) |
| SLP Now | $290.00 | $348.00 | $249.00 | Annual |
| The Digital SLP | $350.00 | $420.00 | $329.00 | Annual (or 4 quarters at $356) |
Ultimate SLP is the odd one out: its annual plan costs more than ten months of monthly billing, so if you take summers off, pay monthly & cancel in June.
Speech Therapy Magic
Speech Therapy Magic is the cheapest subscription here & the most different. Instead of a large library of finished materials, it's a practice platform: browser games co-created with a licensed SLP, a drag-and-drop deck builder called Magic Studio (with AI "deck briefs" that draft a deck from a description), personalized sound-loaded stories, printable worksheets, & pronunciation scoring on recorded words. Every attempt is logged by sound & position in each child's progress chart. Students open shared decks with a PIN & never need their own account.
Where the others beat it: volume. The games page lists 11 games plus a few built-in practice activities, & the deck marketplace seven free decks, against thousands of activities elsewhere. It covers 3 student profiles, with extras at $4.99/mo each up to 10, so a large school caseload needs a conversation with them first. It has no IEP, scheduling or billing tools. Pronunciation scores are practice feedback from the company's own engine: they don't detect distortions & aren't validated as a measure of disordered child speech. There's no free plan; it's $9.99/mo or $79.99/yr after the 7-day trial.
Right for you if: articulation is a big share of your caseload, you like building materials, or you want home practice that reports back.
Ultimate SLP
Ultimate SLP is the best value if you want lots of ready-made interactive content. It claims 100+ online games, 500+ card decks, 30,000+ flash cards & a large real-photo library across articulation, language & social communication, preschool through high school, with multiplayer games for up to 6. At $12.95/mo it's barely more than Speech Therapy Magic & includes far more finished material.
Trade-offs: no data tracking is advertised, there's no app, & checkout asks for a payment method for the trial. Its own pages quote different library counts, so treat the numbers as approximate.
Speechy Musings All Access Pass
Speechy Musings is a well-known SLP creator shop, & the All Access Pass unlocks every digital & printable resource in it plus new releases, for $225 a year (annual only, one SLP per pass). Areas include speech sounds, language, AAC, themed units & wordless picture books. The standout term: anything you download stays yours after the pass lapses, which none of the streaming-style libraries offer.
Trade-offs: no trial & no refunds, so look through the free samples & individual products first. Most of the value is in printable & downloadable resources rather than interactive games, & there's no data tracking.
SLP Now
SLP Now is the most complete workload tool in this group. Beyond a library of 6,000+ materials organized into 100+ thematic units & skill packs, it includes real-time session data with progress charts, scheduling, IEP & evaluation deadline tracking, a goal bank, Medicaid billing notes & professional development through SLP Now Academy. It's $29/mo or $249/yr, & the 14-day trial needs no card (capped at 5 downloads).
Trade-offs: the materials lean printable & downloadable rather than interactive games, & it's one of the pricier monthly options. If you'd use the planning & data side, it replaces more than one tool, which is where the price makes sense.
The Digital SLP
The Digital SLP membership claims 2,000+ no-print, interactive activities (interactive PDFs, web games, videos & songs), mostly PreK-8 & strongest in language. It runs in a browser on tablets, computers & SMART Boards, says it's hosted on a HIPAA-compliant server with iKeepSafe FERPA certification, & includes QuickLinks to send activities home. Plans are $35/mo, $89/quarter or $329/yr, with a 30-day trial, a 7-day refund window & the option to pause for up to 90 days.
Trade-offs: it's the most expensive here; its caseload & data planner is still described as coming soon; & high school content is listed as in development.

Worth Knowing About
- Super Duper Digital Library - $19.95/mo or $199.95/yr at its current sale price, with digital versions of Super Duper's card decks & games, mostly preschool to upper elementary (source).
- Boom Cards - not a library but a platform: memberships from free to $49.99/yr, decks bought separately. See our Boom Cards alternatives guide.
- SLP Toolkit - not materials but assessments, goals & progress monitoring, $29/mo or $215/yr. Some SLPs pair it with a materials library.
- AI tools - if you mostly need custom materials, a general assistant may cover more than a subscription. Our guide to the best AI tools for SLPs compares them.
How to Choose
- School SLP with a big mixed caseload: SLP Now if you'll use the planning & data tools; Ultimate SLP if you mainly want engaging games cheaply.
- Teletherapy, mostly language: The Digital SLP, or Ultimate SLP on a tighter budget.
- Articulation-heavy, or lots of home practice: Speech Therapy Magic, ideally alongside one library.
- Love printables & want to keep them: Speechy Musings All Access Pass.
- Want to stack two: a library (Ultimate SLP or SLP Now) plus Speech Therapy Magic comes to roughly $220-330 a year on annual plans, about the same as The Digital SLP alone.
Before you buy, check whether your district already licenses one of these; several sell group & district plans with purchase orders. And if a subscription will hold student data, ask whether the district has a data agreement with the vendor. The Department of Education's FERPA pages explain what counts as student PII, & ASHA's guide to evaluating products is a good checklist for the clinical side. Six Questions to Ask Before You Subscribe
- Does it run on the devices my students actually have? All five are browser-based, but check the iPad, Chromebook & interactive-whiteboard experience during the trial, not just your laptop.
- How does it behave over a video call? In teletherapy, sound is what breaks first. Screen-share a game with audio sharing on & see whether the student can hear it & play it on their side.
- What happens on the renewal date? Most of these auto-renew. Put the date in your calendar the day you sign up, especially for annual-only plans.
- What do I keep if I cancel? Streaming libraries disappear when you stop paying; downloaded printables don't. If you want a permanent collection, that changes the answer.
- Will my employer pay? SLP Now, Speechy Musings & Super Duper all mention group pricing or purchase orders, & Speech Therapy Magic says to contact them for team seats. Ask before you put it on a personal card.
- Does the trial show what I'll actually use? Plan three real sessions during the trial (an articulation student, a language student, a group) & judge on prep time saved, not on library size.
How We Evaluated These
We compared the subscriptions SLPs most often weigh against each other, using each vendor's own pricing & product pages, checked in October 2026. We recorded monthly & annual prices, trial terms, cancellation & refund terms, platforms, content claims & data features, & did our own school-year price math. Library sizes are vendor claims, not our counts. We didn't run a hands-on caseload trial of each product & aren't claiming one. Speech Therapy Magic facts come from its live pricing & product pages.
