Which Tool is Better for AI Detection: Undetectable AI vs MyDetector.ai
AI is basically part of my workflow at this point and most of the time it holds up just fine. But the moment an editor flags something, that ChatGPT draft that saved you on Tuesday is the thing putting your contract at risk on Thursday.

Which is The Better AI Detection Tool Undetectable.ai or MyDetector.ai
Reading Time: 5 minutes
As a content creator, I would say that A.I isn't something that’s a novelty anymore, it's practically part of my entire SOP.
I use tools like ChatGPT to draft articles, Nano Banana to generate realistic images at a scale that would have been impossible 2 years ago.
And it works. For the most part.
But every once in a while, an editor flags something and suddenly that ChatGPT generated blog that saved me last Tuesday is the thing putting my contract at risk this Thursday.
That's why I run my work through a multitude of tools before anything goes out. I want to know if it passes as human.
I want to know where it gets flagged.
So I tested two of them again: Undetectable AI and MyDetector AI.
Round 2 this time I had them go through six tests, three on AI-written text (one humanized) , two on AI-generated images and a real photo.
Here's what I found.
What is Undetectable AI?
Undetectable AI started as a humanizer. It rewrites AI-generated content to slip past detectors like Turnitin and GPTZero and it backs that up with a money-back guarantee if your content gets flagged.
That alone is a bold claim in a space full of bold claims.
But it's grown into more than that. There's a built-in detector now, support for 50+ languages, and bulk/API access for teams.
The detector piece is what interests me most here — because a team that built the humanizer knows exactly what patterns detectors look for.
That insider angle should matter.
Pricing starts at $9.50/month for 20,000 words, A free version is also available if you want to poke around a little.
What is MyDetector.ai?
MyDetector AIi pitches itself as an all-in-one solution — text detection, image detection, and one-click humanization in a single tool.
You can upload PDFs and Word docs directly, which is a genuinely useful feature if you're dealing with document-heavy workflows.
The interface is fast. The feature list looks good. And the pricing is reasonable at $6.99/month for 1,100 quotas up to $29.99/month for unlimited use.
A Quick Note on Privacy
Before getting into the results, one thing worth flagging: both tools process content you paste or upload through their servers.
If you're working with client copy, unpublished drafts, or anything under NDA, be careful about what you submit.
What I Tested and Why
I ran six tests across two categories: AI-written text and AI-generated images.
For the text, I used three samples.
One written by ChatGPT
One by Claude
One that had been rewritten to be humanized.
For the images, i used three samples as well
I tested a DALL-E image from ChatGPT,
One from Gemini (Nano Banana)
A real photograph.
Image detection is a newer frontier and most detectors fumble it.
I wanted to see if either of these tools is actually ready for it or just listing it as a feature.
The goal isn't to catch myself, I already know what I made. It's to understand what each tool sees, how confident it is, and whether it will hold up.

My Final Thoughts
Undetectable AI went 6 for 6. MyDetector went 2 for 6.
That's not a close head to head.
One thing worth noting, MyDetector.ai's text detection is still running on their Model V2 beta.
And similar to the previous head to head, that could have played a role in the results.
If the model improves and it should.
The text detection numbers could look different.
But the image detection failures have nothing to do with a beta model, and those were just as bad.
For now, Undetectable AI is the clear winner (again). It's the only one of the two I'd actually trust with my processes
