Google has recently added 3 new updates to their upcoming Search Generative Experience (SGE), with generative-AI to help users better understand and learn more about what they are searching for.

The new updates include; seeing a preview definition on difficult terms, adding new capabilities to easily understand and debug generated code, and showcasing its new ability to show AI-generated key points from long-form contents.

In a recent tweet from Sundar Pichai, Google CEO, he introduced the new updates on SGE rolling out soon.

To elaborate more on these improvements and upgraded features, users can now;

  • See definitions -  users can now simply hover over difficult or unfamiliar terms in SGE’s AI-generated responses to see preview definitions and supporting images to help them understand better. Google has improved their generative-AI features for various topics or questions related to economics, history, science, and more.
  • Understand coding information - SGE currently provides AI-generated overviews with tasks on programming languages and tools. Users can now see suggested code snippets and segments of code with color-coded syntax highlighting.
  • “SGE while browsing” - AI-generated key points of an article will be shown with direct links to its primary source for a much deeper understanding. Users can just click a particular key point and it will automatically show the whole information needed.

In a release from Google, they emphasized that these latest improvements and capabilities “are just some of the ways that we are improving our generative AI experience in Search to make searching for and digesting information easier."

Recently, Google has been continuously improving their much-anticipated SGE from the enhanced results page up to their AI-powered features

Users can now expect these small updates to be applied in SGE and see how far they have come in providing (seemingly) the best AI-powered search results. These small details are actually a part of the big improvements applied to their searching services overall.

So far, Google’s integration of AI in their ‘Search Generative Experience’ definitely boosts their potential performance and it gradually enhances the accuracy of their AI-powered features. Their dedication towards improving the Search experience of users definitely sets them apart from other search engines.
