Yahoo has recently expanded their AI capabilities with new enhancements and an upcoming shopping feature to Yahoo Mail.
The shopping feature dubbed as ‘Shopping Saver’ is an AI tool that surfaces forgotten deals, discount codes, gift cards, and store credits in users’ inboxes.
Consequently, the Yahoo Mail inbox will draft suggested messages to sellers and vendors to help users apply those savings after a purchase has been made.
“We’ve introduced a full suite of tools on Yahoo Mail to help users save time and money, making strides toward an assistive inbox,” Josh Jacobson, Senior Vice President of Yahoo Mail said in a release.
According to Yahoo, they aim to “save everyone time and money” as they continue to bring innovation to inbox and redefine user experience along the way.
In a recent tweet, Yahoo showcased a video preview of the new and leveled up Yahoo Mail inbox.
The new inbox will allow users to create a request based on the savings found and it will auto-generate an email request for money back – ready to be sent any time.
In addition, Yahoo Mail has been under a lot of upgrades in efforts to improve their existing AI tools and features, including:
- Writing Assistant - drafts suggested replies using the preferred tone of voice of the user (urgent, grateful, or apologetic) and identifies appropriate context clues from existing emails to improve conversational abilities (casual, professional, etc.).
- Message Summary - provides high-level summaries of messages, highlights key information and suggests follow-up topics, calendar events, and tasks.
- Search - suggests common questions and prompts to help users easily find what they are looking for.
In previous reports, Yahoo’s AI beta expansion is supported by Google Cloud’s AI technology.
Considering that we have thousands of unopened emails offering deals and discounts, the upcoming feature will definitely help users save more money. Moreover, it also streamlines the whole emailing experience brought by its improved AI capabilities.
