How often do you get a business's company name but none of its details?

It could be anything from the official website to their social links. Usually, one can easily fetch this information using a search engine like Google. But what if you already have a database of these company names? Wouldn't it be great if you could just type them in and automatically receive all the important details about their business? No manual searching required?

That's exactly what company-to-domain API does. It takes those company names as input and instantly returns a complete profile for each business.

Why Do You Need a Company's Business Details

Having just the company name severely limits what you can do with that information. On their own, they don't provide enough context to be truly valuable.

However, when you enrich them with additional data points and details, a world of opportunity opens up. Suddenly, they become a powerful source in driving critical business processes and decisions.

Here are some key reasons why you need a company's info beyond just the name:

Use Cases

  1. Sales & Marketing - Having a complete company profile (website, address, industry etc.) allows the sales and marketing teams to better research and target prospective customers and accounts.
  2. Lead Generation - Enriching basic lead lists with additional firmographic data helps qualify and prioritize better-fit leads.
  3. Supply Chain Management - Gathering supplier/vendor details from company names for procurement purposes.
  4. Investment Research - Institutional investors use company information to build detailed profiles for analysis.
  5. Competitive Intelligence - Collecting data on competitors' details like employee counts, funding, product info etc.

While there are many more use cases, the ones mentioned here are some of the well-known ones. One thing is for sure: You cannot do this manually.

How To Get Business Details Using a Company Name

Now that we know what we need, let's jump straight on how to get started.

First, you have to sign up for EnrichmentAPI. When you do, you get 50 free credits to test the API and try it out.

You will land on the dashboard as shown below.

On the right-hand side, you will see your API_KEY. My key is hidden as this is my personal account.

On the left-hand side, look for 'Company name to Domain' tool. Click on that and you will be taken to the tool's window.

For CEOs, product managers, and founders, this is the easiest way to test the API.

Let’s try it with a company named “Push Security”, which the tool will use as its input. If you have the business's location and phone number, you can also type these data points in as a whole.

As a result, we got a website/domain for this business name. Here is what you get as the output below: -

  "data": {

    "website": ""

But what about other business details?

You can easily get more information by setting the Get_More parameter to 'True'.

By default, this parameter is on ‘False’. It takes up 1 credit from the 50 free credits you get when you sign up.

However, when the Get_More parameter is 'True', the service charges 10 credits. But you get all other information related to that name as shown below.

This is an easy tool to use. However, to do this process in bulk, you have to use your API_KEY. As mentioned previously, you'll find your API_KEY on the right-hand side of your dashboard section.

While other tools can provide the official website simply by knowing the business name, they won’t give you other important details about them. EnrichmentAPI does the whole process in real time and doesn’t use a database.
