Slack has recently introduced their new Workflow Builder with improved automation capabilities that will potentially boost user productivity and streamline workflows.
The upgrade will enable users to easily; connect and access tools, build and deploy custom applications, and use automations in workflows to jump-start building processes – all in one place.
“Workflow Builder has empowered our users to explore new, creative approaches to automating tasks with Slack, all while freeing up valuable time for more strategic work,” Rebecca Hoffman, Product Manager of Collaboration Tools in AllianceBernstein said.
In a recent tweet, Lidiane Jones, CEO of Slack, has officially revealed their new and improved Workflow Builder along with other major enhancements.
According to Slack, the Workflow Builder will make automation “simpler yet powerful” for users and give them the ability to:
- Keep conversations and tools in sync – no more jumping between tools. Users can utilize the expanded automation toolbox while keeping in touch with their connections in one workspace. With built-in Slack connectors, they can also easily build powerful workflows that can automate across multiple systems.
- Bring automation into the flow of work – users can simply add a link to a workflow and share it across channels in Slack. This will allow them to quickly read and take action.
- Build and deploy custom apps, hosted in Slack – with Slack’s developer platform, users can quickly and easily build custom apps and Slack will host the app and manage its infrastructure with no added cost.
Furthermore, Slack also introduced a centralized hub for apps and workflows under the Automations view in the More tab and users will be able to launch all workflows from one place.
Users can simply automate tasks and processes with Workflow Builder to collect information, send reminders, manage requests and more. In addition, there are Workflow templates readily available to help users get started.
Currently, the Workflow Builder is generally available on paid plans.
