Inviting Team Members to Google Search Console In 6 Clicks

Google Search Console is a wonderful tool for analyzing how your site is doing with Google. If you need to share access with someone, it's easy to do so in just a few clicks!

Whether you're a novice website marketer or an experienced business professional, you know the importance of staying on top of your search engine optimization. One crucial tool in your SEO backpack is Google Search Console (GSC). GSC provides you and your team valuable insights into your websites Google Search performance. Sometimes you need to add a new user to your GSC account.

Adding New Search Console Users

By inviting team members or clients to access your Search Console account, you can streamline collaboration, find and repair issues, and share data. Over the next few minutes, we'll show you how to add users to Google Search Console in just a few clicks.

Navigate to Settings

On the Search Console Page, select your website property, scroll down & navigate to Settings

Edit User & Permissions

In the settings page, click on users and permissions. Doing so will bring up a list of everyone with current console access.

Add a New User

Inside the users & permissions page, select add user to bring up the email dialog box

Here you can add a new user. Ensure the email is somebody with a Google account, so they can access Search Console. You'll see three permission levels: Owner, full, and restricted.

Owner: Has full control all web properties. Owners can manage multiple users, customize settings, view all search data, and use all tools. Don't give this role out to many users.

Full User: Has view rights to all search data but doesn't have the ability to managers users or use all tools. Most users should have this permission if they commonly work with your site.

Restricted User: Has simple view rights on most data. This is great for sharing with anyone running an audit on your website

Login & Verify Access

Once you share, the user can log into their Search Console dashboard and view the new property. We shared a new WordPress website with this user.

And that's it! Your new user can view performance highlights & other important page tools for your website property. Happy sharing!
